About us

What started from the planting of the first Rocoto plant in my medical herb garden, was inadvertently the start of Gringo Killer Gourmet chilli Products.

Margaret DaggerI have no formal training in the food industry, but I love cooking and eating good healthy food. Being outside in the garden is where I love to be and I grow the chillies that I use in the business. They are interesting, temperamental plants to grow. From the beautiful purple flowering Rocoto, the Habanero, Bhut Jolokia and now the Trinidad scorpion, they are all grown organically and pollinated by the bees in my own beehives.

As for the finished products such as the sauces, after trail and error, adapting and changing recipes, plus using friends and family as guinea pigs, I now have a range of sauces that are all different in flavour and texture.

These can used for adding that extra wow factor into any dish and the health benefits are many (see the chilli facts page).

We have also been able to rebuild our basement laundry and turn it into a small commercial kitchen which has been registered and given an A rating. Plus I really enjoy working in here, with a view out to the garden.

My next challenge now is to find more land or a glass-house to grow more chillies.

Last word – be adventurous and have fun when you cook.
